Blur a page in five steps

Add Blurr.ing to your browser
Install the Blurr.ing extension in one click. It sits quietly in your toolbar until you need it, on Chrome and other Chromium browsers such as Edge, Brave, and Arc.

Open the blur toolbar
Go to any page and press Ctrl + Shift + Y (Cmd + Shift + Y on Mac), or click the Blurr.ing icon, to summon the on-page toolbar. It works on any site and inside iframes.

Choose a blur mode
Pick Draw area to drag a box over any region, or Click element to blur a single component. In element mode, hold Alt and roll the scroll wheel to grow the selection from one word up to a whole card or table.

Resize it, and fine-tune with Premium

Three gestures cover everything, and all three are free and unlimited. Reach for whichever fits what you are trying to hide.
Click an element to blur
Point at a component and click to frost exactly that element (a table cell, an avatar, a card). Hold Alt and scroll to grow the selection outward from a single word to the whole container, so you hide precisely as much as you mean to and nothing more.
Select text to blur
Highlight a run of text the way you always do: drag across it, double-click a word, or triple-click a paragraph. Only the text you picked blurs, the layout never shifts, and the whole run stays one blur you can lift in a single click.
Make it fit
Fine-tune every blur
A blur is only useful if it covers the right thing at the right strength. Three controls get you there.
Adjust the intensity
Turn a blur all the way up when the content must be unreadable, or ease it down to a soft haze when you just want to de-emphasise something.
Resize to fit
Grab the handles and reshape the blur so it covers the sensitive area exactly, with no stray characters peeking out at the edges.
Pin it in place
Pin a blur to a fixed position on screen so it stays locked over a sticky header or a live dashboard while the rest of the page scrolls underneath.

What is the fastest way to blur something on a web page?

Can I blur just one word, or a whole table?
Both. In click-to-blur mode, click an element and hold Alt and roll the scroll wheel to grow the selection outward: from a single word, to a sentence, to the surrounding card or the entire table. Draw-a-box mode lets you frost any freeform region regardless of the page structure.
Will the blur stay hidden when I reload the page?
With Premium, yes. Blurr.ing stores your blurs and blocks the first paint until they are back, so hidden content never flashes into view, even across reloads, single-page-app navigation, iframes, and the back button. On the free plan a blur lasts as long as you stay on the page: it follows an in-app navigation, but a refresh or a new tab clears it.
How do I remove a blur or peek at what is underneath?
Hover any blur to bring up the Reveal pill and peek without deleting it. To take one off, remove that single blur with a click; to reset the page, clear every blur at once the moment you stop presenting.
