Terms of Service

Introduction

Welcome to Blurr.ing (“we,” “our,” or “us”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Blurr.ing Chrome extension (“Extension”), including any updates, new versions, additional features, and any associated services.

By installing, accessing, or using the Extension, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Extension.

License and Use

Limited License: Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Extension for your personal or internal business purposes.

Restrictions: You may not:

• Modify, decompile, reverse engineer, or attempt to derive the source code of the Extension
• Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
• Use the Extension in any manner that violates any applicable law or regulation
• Rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute, sublicense or transfer the Extension
• Use the Extension to harm, threaten, or harass another person or organization

Accounts and Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Extension. You do not need an account for the free plan; Premium requires signing in with a Google account.

You agree to provide accurate account information, you are responsible for activity under your account, and you must keep access to your Google account secure. We may suspend or terminate accounts used to abuse the service, including attempts to circumvent free plan limits or payment requirements.

Subscriptions and Billing

The core Extension is free to use: unlimited manual blurs on every page, one saved rule at a time, and a few free tries of the screenshot tool and of Tab Privacy. An optional paid plan (“Premium”) unlocks unlimited saved rules, unlimited screenshots, Auto Blur, Blur Text smart presets, blurs that restore on every visit, Tab Privacy whenever you want it, and blur controls. The free allowances may change; Premium has no free trial.

• Plans and prices: Premium is offered as a monthly ($4/month) or yearly ($19/year) subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase ($29). Prices are shown at checkout in USD, or in EUR where offered, and may change with notice.
• Payments: payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details.
• Renewal and cancellation: subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time, and Premium stays active until the end of the period you have paid for. The lifetime purchase is a single charge and never renews.
• Refunds and billing issues: except where a refund is required by applicable law, payments are non-refundable: cancelling stops future renewals rather than refunding past charges. If a payment is refunded or disputed, the Premium access it paid for is revoked, including lifetime access. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at [email protected] and we will sort it out.

User Data and Privacy

Your use of the Extension is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and share your information.

Intellectual Property

The Extension and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Blurr.ing and its licensors. The Extension is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without our prior written consent.

User Responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Extension complies with all applicable laws and regulations. The Extension is provided as a tool, and you are solely responsible for the content you choose to blur and your reasons for doing so.

You acknowledge that using the Extension to blur information:

• Does not make the original information completely inaccessible or secure
• Should not be solely relied upon for securing sensitive information
• Is primarily intended for visual protection during screen sharing or for screenshots

Disclaimers

As-Is Basis: The Extension is provided on an “as-is” and “as available” basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the reliability, availability, or suitability of the Extension.

Performance and Security: We do not warrant that:

• The Extension will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free
• The Extension will meet your specific requirements
• The blurring functionality will be completely secure or impenetrable
• Any errors or issues in the Extension will be corrected

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall Blurr.ing, its affiliates, or its licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

• Your access to or use of, or inability to access or use, the Extension
• Any conduct or content of any third party on or related to the Extension
• Any content obtained from the Extension
• Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your information or content

The total liability of Blurr.ing for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Extension shall not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid, if any, to use the Extension during the 12 months preceding the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Blurr.ing, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Extension or violation of these Terms.

Changes to the Extension

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace the Extension, or change, suspend, or discontinue the Extension (including without limitation, the availability of any feature, database, or content) at any time.

Changes to Terms

We may update or modify these Terms from time to time. If we make changes, we will notify you by revising the date at the top of these Terms. Your continued use of the Extension after any such change constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Extension immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach these Terms.

All provisions of the Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
